UPDATE: Goodell and the NFL have backtracked a bit on whether The Redskins are in the clear in regards to 3G’s Bounty program. Until Monday evening (the first evening of the Owner’s Meeting), the NFL’s official line was that the investigation was no longer active and that no teams, other than The Saints, would be punished. Now he’s saying that it is, in fact, open again:

“We haven’t closed the investigation,” Goodell said. “We haven’t stopped investigating, and if we get new information, we’ll act on it.” (ESPN)

It must’ve been tough for him to not add “Dan Snyder” to the end of his statement on that during his presser. A shot across the bow in regards to the Illegal salary cap hit? Sounds like it to me.

The Danny and The Jerry vs. Dicktator Goodell has started, and they get to all hang out in a cozy hotel conference room today as the Owner’s Meeting gets underway. As you’ve probably heard, both owners are teaming up to fight the salary cap hit Goodell, with the pushing of other owners such as the Giants John Mara, imposed (illegally) on both clubs. I say, “Hell Yeah.” However… man, it churns my stomach to have to team up with freaking Dallass, but this is a classic example of “The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend.”

Almost couldn’t type that. I swear my Darrell Green bobble head is frowning at me.

Skins fans, you can get a preview of the man most likely to be your QB live today at noon on ESPNU or ESPN360.com . You can also catch live coverage at 1:00 on NFL Network’s Path to the Draft. Baylor is hosting a pro day for NFL scouts to showcase their players talents. A lot of people have been wondering why RG3 would be participating in a pro day, when the only thing that could possibly happen is he could give a bad showing and drop out of the top two picks. Well, taking a less Redskins-centric view, you can see that Baylor has a couple of pretty good players besides Griffin trying to up their draft value, and who else would you rather have running the plays but the Heisman winning QB?

Oh, and look for another podcast this Friday or Saturday. I can’t tell you how pumped John is about Rex signing.

Yo yo yo, after a bit of a layoff during the Taint of the Offseason, we suddenly had to get our act together and talk about all the shit that’s been going down over the last week. And shit has definitely been going down…

Goodell, this aggression will not stand, man...

In this week’s episode, we talk about the MASSIVE trade for the #2 pick in the draft, and how the DICK-tator, Roger Goodell, has suddenly decided that we broke some fake rule that didn’t exist and he’s going to take away $36 MILLION DOLLARS of our salary cap space -I guarantee that The Danny, and The Jerry in Dallass (who’s out $10 million), are meeting about their options in regards to this, there’s no way they’re going to lie down and take this without a fight, especially since they didn’t break ANY rules.

In any event, we also talk about the first couple of signings in Free Agency (our new, young receiver corps) and who we still need to sign (Safeties, O-Linemen), LaRon Landry’s addiction to working out and how it’s going to end his career (Hello, David Boston anyone?), and Aaron Neville makes a quick guest appearance because, well, he loves Harry Hog Football.

Redskins Make Statement on Cap Adjustment

This is the official statement of Redskins general manager Bruce Allen on recent media reports of an adjusted salary cap for the 2012 season, reposted from Redskins.com without changes:

“The Washington Redskins have received no written documentation from the NFL concerning adjustments to the team salary cap in 2012 as reported in various media outlets. Every contract entered into by the club during the applicable periods complied with the 2010 and 2011 collective bargaining agreements and, in fact, were approved by the NFL commissioner’s office. We look forward to free agency, the draft and the coming football season.”
