Yup dudes, it’s the offseason.  And so far, we’ve gotten to watch the New York Football Giants win two playoff games as we all shake our heads and keep repeating, “We beat them twice…TWICE!”

Oh, and we won three other games…

In any event, Harry Hog Football does not have an offseason, we podcast all year round, so be sure to check in every week or so for OUR take on everything in Redskinsland. And if you see a Cowboys fan…JOKE ‘EM!!!!!  And if you see a Giants fan…remind them that we beat them twice…TWICE!”

Yo yo yo…Ok seriously, what the hell happened in that game against Philly?  Dudes totally quit on their team, on the fans, and for a couple, on their careers.  Oh, and Rocky McIntosh must have been channeling his inner-Ferris Beuller with that ALLEGED pillows-in-the-bed-so-I-don’t-get-busted-for-curfew stunt.

Couple that with a Captain taking his helmet off on the playing field to argue with officials, our Special Teams being, well, Special, and Shanny the Elder completely ignoring anyone and everyone that dared tell him NOT to throw another stupid challenge flag, and we had ourselves a First-Class DEBACLE to end what I think was the worst season I can ever remember as a Redskins Fan.  Worse than Zorn. Worse than Spurrier.  Worse than Norvell.  Heck, worse than Petitbon.

I’ve never wanted a Redskins season to end before, no matter how bad things were going, because, well, it’s the end of FOOTBALL!!!

Not this year.

I am so pumped that the season is over and we have Free Agency and The Draft to look forward to – this team has made me so sick, mad, pissed, etc., that I’m 100% relieved that the season is over.  For the first time ever, I’m happy that The Redskins season is over.  And that’s sad.

Shanny – you got one more season to be relevant.  8 games, really.  We’ll know by then.  Supposedly you brought discipline to The Redskins, discipline that was sorely lacking.  Except for that you didn’t.  Captains who habitually can’t stop smoking weed.  Captains losing their cool on the field of play.  Stupid Penalties.  Discipline was the only reason I was pumped that you were the new coach of The Washington Redskins.  And yet, you haven’t even really brought that to Washington.

One more season, Shanny, that’s all you’ve got, and all you deserve.

I figured I’d go to sleep and let Eagle and Giant-using Aaron and his Staten Island Ferries put up the post for this week’s Podcast, but he forgot to mention that he also won the HHFFFL (Harry Hog Football Fantasy Football League).  Congrats to him, it’s not quite the same as the Redskins winning the Super Bowl to end the 1991 season twenty years ago, but it’ll have to do.    -John

I think Shanny the Elder had a pretty good draft this past April, considering how many picks they ended up stockpiling and also considering the fact that we needed help at virtually every single position on the field (Yeah, I know we really, really, reeeeeeeally needed a Quarterback; I was raising the Sexy Rexy SUUUUCKS!!! banner before anybody, but we needed everything else, too, and who were we going to get by the time we picked, Blaine Gabbert?).  Things aren’t looking too rosy for the class of 2010, although it’s hard to see Trent Williams through this haze in the room…wait, what were we talking about?  Oh yeah….

What’s interesting in this article to me is the insight into how exactly things are run behind the scenes in Ashburn, and the opinions quoted from staff members of other franchises.  Personally, it sounds like Ol’ Glass Eye needs to delegate more, but hey, I don’t make millions of dollars a year, what do I know, right?

Like it or not (My vote:  Not), at least one of The Shannys is going to be here for at least another season.  Hopefully he can right the ship, and as much as I’ve never been a Shanny Fan, he deserves one more draft and at least half of next season to prove he knows what he’s doing.  But dudes, seriously, if we get to the beginning of November 2012 and we still suck, it’s time for Mike Shanahan to go.

Hail To The Redskins, beat the Patty Cakes today!!! -John

I’ve watched it twice now, and I’m still not sure exactly what happened in those last four minutes against The New Jersey Jets.  All I know is that I saw Dirty Sanchez block out DeAngelo Hall on that last Gang Green touchdown, and I saw Rex Grossman as his highest level of SUCKITUDE, or, the usual for him.

In any event, we’re still lumbering on through this debacle of a season, hoping that Fred Davis and Silverback will drop by the Harry Hog Studios to help us chill out, because being a Redskins Fan right now pretty much sucks it.  But that’s why we’re True Fans.  Take the Bad with the Good, the losses with the Wins.  And maybe somehow, someway, we can avenge that horrible loss to the Patriots from a couple of seasons ago on Sunday.  Or we’ll get crushed and continue to solidify a Top-Five draft pick in 2012.

Kyle Shanahan SUCKS.

In any event, with so much wrong with the ‘Skins, including the obvious (Sexy Rexy – my very, very personal kick) and two starters who can’t seem to figure out that their job depends on NOT smoking the Tree despite that being a reason that they could Lose Their Job,  I just had to offer up this quote:

Worst Offensive Quarter: The Redskins had 11 plays in the third quarter, and gained 12 yards. Included in there was an eight-yard run. So the other 10 plays averaged 0.4 yards.

The Redskins, and the Shannys and their 11-passes-in-a-row playcalling, ain’t gettin’ it done, folks. Not by damn far.

Oh, sorry dudes, got distracted.  I’m hangin’ here with Fred Davis and Silverback.  What was I sayin’?  Oh yeah, the latest podcast is up, #273.

In this week’s podcast we try not to dwell too long on that Debacle against the Dolphins.  Unfortunately, the next game is against…Dallass.  Has there ever been less buzz going into a Dallass week, well, ever?  Hard to get pumped when The Dynamic Duo of SUCK are your options at QB.
