Baylor is hosting a pro day for NFL scouts to showcase their players talents. A lot of people have been wondering why RG3 would be participating in a pro day, when the only thing that could possibly happen is he could give a bad showing and drop out of the top two picks. Well, taking a less Redskins-centric view, you can see that Baylor has a couple of pretty good players besides Griffin trying to up their draft value, and who else would you rather have running the plays but the Heisman winning QB?

Oh, and look for another podcast this Friday or Saturday. I can’t tell you how pumped John is about Rex signing.

In this week’s episode, we talk about the MASSIVE trade for the #2 pick in the draft, and how the DICK-tator, Roger Goodell, has suddenly decided that we broke some fake rule that didn’t exist and he’s going to take away $36 MILLION DOLLARS of our salary cap space -I guarantee that The Danny, and The Jerry in Dallass (who’s out $10 million), are meeting about their options in regards to this, there’s no way they’re going to lie down and take this without a fight, especially since they didn’t break ANY rules.

In any event, we also talk about the first couple of signings in Free Agency (our new, young receiver corps) and who we still need to sign (Safeties, O-Linemen), LaRon Landry’s addiction to working out and how it’s going to end his career (Hello, David Boston anyone?), and Aaron Neville makes a quick guest appearance because, well, he loves Harry Hog Football.

As I said on the podcast, I am pretty impressed with RG3. I think he could be A great QB. I will not pretend that I watched his games at Baylor. All of my knowledge of his play comes from watching you tube videos. I know that most of us are slackers so I invite you all to watch these videos here at the bottom of this post and comment what you like or dislike about him. In the upcoming days, I will do similar posts regarding Luck and the next wave of QBs the Redskins may be interested in picking up.– Aaron

Alright dudes, we all know that we really really REALLY need a Quarterback.  But which one?  In this week’s episode we debate, at Great Length, the pros and cons of going after Robert Griffin III or Peyton Manning.  Is RG3 worth two #1 draft picks, or possibly more?  Should we take a chance on Peyton Manning and his neck?

Other News:  Phillip Daniels is back as the “Director of Player Development” for the Redskins – a classy guy who played through ridiculous injuries (torn triceps!) and is exactly who the Redskins need to keep guys like dumbass Trent Williams and dumbass Fred Davis off of the wacky weed and in the film room.

We also talk about the NFL combine and how we’re somehow between $39-$47 million dollars UNDER the salary cap for 2012.  Seriously.  With that amount of space we should be able to get a QB, #1 WR and hopefully about half-a-dozen Defensive Backs.  We’ll see….

Ok, it’s not like we left or anything, it’s just been…well, we beat the damn Gnats twice and they won the NFL Championship…it didn’t sit well with us, so we needed a few extra days to sober up, I mean, come to grips with this hellish past season of football.  Plus Aaron went to Disney World.

So enjoy this week’s Podcast, we talk about the usual smattering of things involving the Redskins, including mourning over the fact that it’s now officially been over 20 years since our last Super Bowl, damn we really really need a Quarterback (Insert Peyton Manning headline here), plus Josh’s sighting of Bill Cowher in Raleigh

And of course, we unveil the new HHFFFL (Harry Hog Football Fantasy Football League) trophy sent to us by our Long-Time Benevolent Sponsor, David Lee of David Lee Legal Services, The David Lee Legal Services Award, henceforth to be known as The Lee Trophy.  We will be getting all of the past year’s winners engraved on plaques on the base, and every year’s winner going forward as well.  Kinda like the Stanley Cup, but we can’t send it off to the winner every year because it’s so cool we may not get it back.  And it’s freaking heavy.  It may just make an appearance at various tailgating events, however.  A solid piece of workmanship if we do say so ourselves.

Yup dudes, it’s the offseason.  And so far, we’ve gotten to watch the New York Football Giants win two playoff games as we all shake our heads and keep repeating, “We beat them twice…TWICE!”

Oh, and we won three other games…

In any event, Harry Hog Football does not have an offseason, we podcast all year round, so be sure to check in every week or so for OUR take on everything in Redskinsland. And if you see a Cowboys fan…JOKE ‘EM!!!!!  And if you see a Giants fan…remind them that we beat them twice…TWICE!”

Yo yo yo…Ok seriously, what the hell happened in that game against Philly?  Dudes totally quit on their team, on the fans, and for a couple, on their careers.  Oh, and Rocky McIntosh must have been channeling his inner-Ferris Beuller with that ALLEGED pillows-in-the-bed-so-I-don’t-get-busted-for-curfew stunt.

Couple that with a Captain taking his helmet off on the playing field to argue with officials, our Special Teams being, well, Special, and Shanny the Elder completely ignoring anyone and everyone that dared tell him NOT to throw another stupid challenge flag, and we had ourselves a First-Class DEBACLE to end what I think was the worst season I can ever remember as a Redskins Fan.  Worse than Zorn. Worse than Spurrier.  Worse than Norvell.  Heck, worse than Petitbon.

I’ve never wanted a Redskins season to end before, no matter how bad things were going, because, well, it’s the end of FOOTBALL!!!

Not this year.

I am so pumped that the season is over and we have Free Agency and The Draft to look forward to – this team has made me so sick, mad, pissed, etc., that I’m 100% relieved that the season is over.  For the first time ever, I’m happy that The Redskins season is over.  And that’s sad.

Shanny – you got one more season to be relevant.  8 games, really.  We’ll know by then.  Supposedly you brought discipline to The Redskins, discipline that was sorely lacking.  Except for that you didn’t.  Captains who habitually can’t stop smoking weed.  Captains losing their cool on the field of play.  Stupid Penalties.  Discipline was the only reason I was pumped that you were the new coach of The Washington Redskins.  And yet, you haven’t even really brought that to Washington.

One more season, Shanny, that’s all you’ve got, and all you deserve.
