From Starters to Scrubs, Redskins Dismantle Bills
14 Aug 2010
The creaky old bus started off slow, but once its engine warmed up The Washington Redskins were clicking on all cylinders. Yeah, it was preseason, but make no mistake: This is not Jim Zorn’s team from the last two seasons.
The Offense looked like it knew the gameplan and played with a purpose rather than kinda milling about and being unsure of what the plays being called into the huddle were. The Defense took a bit to adjust to game speed in the new 3-4 scheme, but once they got that first series over with (giving up a field goal), they were stout and started to look more and more like they were ‘getting it’. We now have a Punt Returner. We now have a Quarterback. Portis was playing like he cared again. Trent ‘Silverback’ Williams showed why they took him over Okung. Again, last night’s 42-17 victory doesn’t mean that Lombardy Trophy #4 is already on its way, but you got the feeling that we’re a lot closer than we’ve been in a long time.
I am PUMPED for the next podcast! Hail!
