No, they didn’t trade Haynesworth, but The Redskins made a potentially huge trade with The Saints, picking up Two-Time Pro-Bowl Tackle Jammal Brown for draft picks.  Brown, who spent all of last season on a stretcher (Hip, Sports Hernia), is looking like the new starting Right Tackle, provided he can come back from those injuries and beat out fellow newcomer Artis Hicks and the pedestrian Stephon Heyer.  He could also start on the left, giving Williams time to catch up to NFL speed without having the added burden of protecting Donovan McNabb’s blindside.

Brown was unhappy in New Orleans because he was going to have to compete for his former starting job with Jermon Bushrod, who stepped in admirably last season to protect Drew Brees on the way to The Super Bowl.  He was also unhappy because he was given a one-year tender rather than a long-term contract, which he and so many other NFL players have wanted and not gotten this offseason.

Jammal Brown signed his tender, worth $3.62 million dollars, before the trade, so he’s locked up for this season.  However, word is that Allen The Bruce is working on an extension for Brown, though I hope they hold off on that until we know that he can actually play at a  Pro Bowl level again.  Allen is sending The Saints either the 3rd or 4th round pick in next years draft, whichever one doesn’t go to Philadelphia in the McNabb trade, and also the 2012 6th round pick if Brown meets enough player incentives.  The Redskins will reportedly get a low pick from New Orleans in the next draft as well, depending on how well Jammal Brown plays this year.  So basically we’re getting a starting Right Tackle for either a 3rd or 4th round pick, which, if he stays healthy, could be a very fine trade indeed.

This is Albert's 17th Plate

In other news, Albert Haynesworth is not budging from his trade demand.  He’s also not budging from his favorite booth at Cici’s Pizza all-you-can-eat pizza buffet.

Punk.

In other better news, Allen The Bruce has signed two of the last three draft picks, Linebacker Perry Riley (4th), and Wide Receiver Terrence Austin (7th).  Sorry, Aaron, I know you we hoping that they had signed your favorite player Miles Austin from The Cowboys.  In any event, this leaves only Trent Williams unsigned.  If things work out, we’re going to have an O-Line anchored at each end by standout Sooners with Williams and Brown.  Add in either Big Mike Williams, Chad Reinhart or Artis Hicks at Right Guard, The Dockery Report on the Left, and Chaotic Funk Rabach at Center, and the Offensive Line is looking roughly 100% better than it did last season.

Now if only we could trade Fat Albert to The Jets for Darrelle Revis…
