For a number of years, Aaron, Josh, and I have joked each other about two guys on the Cowboys and how they had the same last names as we do.  You may remember them:  Larry Allen and Flozell Adams.  All of us have had the unfortunate experience of having to watch the two of them play side-by-side for years in Dallass, seeing the names ‘Adams’ and ‘Allen’ holding up the left side of the line in Dallass in those disgusting blue and silver and white uniforms.

Um, that's not the 'side-by-side' I was talking about....

Well, Lar-ree Allen finally retired, but Flozell has been going on and on at Left Tackle, causing multiple instances of getting joked by Aaron and having nothing to throw back at him, except for the lame comeback that “Flozell is a traitor to my family and that we disowned him long ago.”

Yeah, pretty lame.  Unfortunately, it could get worse for me.

Bruce Allen confirmed that the Redskins have been pursuing Flozell to become a Redskin and protect Donovan McNabb’s blind side.

Now from a football standpoint, I totally get it:  a veteran Left Tackle who’s probably got something left in the tank, the Redskins only have one ‘real’ tackle on the roster (Stephon Heyer) who is pedestrian at best, seems like a perfect fit.  Football smarts say the Redskins should try and make a move for Adams.

HOWEVER – from a REDSKINS standpoint:  HELL NO!!! WE DON’T NEED THAT STINKIN’ DALLASS TURD ON OUR TEAM!!!!!  HE’S A COWBOY!  WHAT’S BRUCE ALLEN THINKING!?!?!

Jeez, I can’t believe this…alright, we’ve already been shocked by the McNabb trade.  Having the Quarterback of our second-most hated rival suddenly become a Redskin took a while to digest, but I think most of us have come to terms with that and we all pretty much agree that Donovan McNabb makes the Redskins better.  We’ve even looked to the past at the Jurgensen/Sneed trade and said to ourselves, “Yeah, it’s the F’ing Eagles, but it could work.”

We’ve also said to ourselves, “At least he isn’t a Cowboy.  Thank goodness we have Allen the Bruce, Son Of Allen the Great, as our new GM.  He would never go after a Cowboy.”

Man, how times have changed.
