  • KillerRob : you mean the jags game where like 32 people showed up?
  • John : Boy, that second half was painful, though not as painful as the last preseason game in 2009
  • John : almost time for the late-night scrub match!
  • KillerRob : haha, the 'crazy ivan' trade -that was hilarious!
  • Guest_1679 : hi «link» best site ?
  • Albert Whinesworth : 10 pm is 8 pm in Arizona... it has been 90-100 in the West consistently. Better late than risk dehydration and heat related problems. Sorry East Coasters.
  • John : 10 pm preseason game? WTF????

All’s Quiet on the Free Agent Front

06 Mar 2010

It’s day #2 of Free Agency, and not only have the Redskins NOT signed any high-priced free agents, they haven’t even had any come to visit yet.  Wait, what?  Isn’t this the Washington Redskins we’re talking about?  The team that always comes out of the gates throwing barrels of money at overpriced, overrated, and over-the-hill players who can’t believe that someone is actually going to pay them such ridiculous salaries that they can light their celebratory cigars with $100 bills? The team that always grabs the Day One headlines?  The team that wins every month of March in the NFL?

What the hell is going on???

It says "You Are A Tool" on the back of this $100 bill. I wonder what that means?

So far, it looks like Shanny and Allen The Bruce are actually taking their time and trying to build a football team, while cutting (CUUUUT!!!) the fat left behind by Aaron’s Cousin Vinny.  They haven’t signed a single new player.

Word was that Tackle Chad Clifton was coming to visit and possibly be a replacement for Chris Samuels, but he’s already decided to stay in Green Bay.  The only visit on the schedule (that we know about) is LB Larry Foote, who was the London Fletcher of the Detroit Lions last year, leading the team with 99 tackles.  He also has two Super Bowl rings with Pittsburgh and would help to bolster the Linebacking Corps in advance of implementing the worst kept secret in Ashburn:  That the Redskins are going to have a 3-4 Defense this season.  There are rumors that they may also invite Journeyman Right Tackle Tony Pashos to visit, but that dude is barely good enough to push Stephon “Odd Body” Heyer for a starting job.

That’s it.  All’s Quiet on the Free Agent Front.

In other news, the Redskins did re-sign three guys who may or may not make the team this training camp:  Defensive End Philip Daniels (who played with a torn muscle in his arm most of last season, and who is 37 years old), Defensive End/Offensive Lineman Lorenzo “The One-Man Gang” Alexander (who is full of talent but is learning to play Linebacker – another clue in regards to the 3-4 D), and Tackle/Guard Big Mike Williams (who’s body might be done transitioning to his playing weight…or who’s body is going to keep getting injured because he used to be 450-some-odd pounds at this time last season).  Of those three guys, the only lock to make the team is probably Alexander, who can play about 57 different positions on the football field.

One final note.  No one has made an offer for Carlos Rogers yet.  Damn.

Hail!
